Angela Rose
From Tragedy to Triumph:
Shattering the Silence of Sexual Violence

Angela Rose is a national leader in the movement to shatter the silence of sexual violence. After over a decade of battling the myths and ongoing incidents of sexual assault, Angela has become a valued educator in survivor empowerment and violence prevention. Angela is also a well-known activist responsible for a nationwide protest in July 2007 dubbed "Call it RAPE" in response to the silencing of rape victims in court. It was covered by CNN, TODAY, TIME and newscasts across the country.

Angela’s work and personal experiences have led her to become a highly-respected, engaging speaker on sexual assault across the country. Her breadth of knowledge enables Angela to address the issues surrounding sexual assault with sensitivity, candor, and even humor at times. Angela’s ability to connect with multi-generational and multi-cultural audiences has brought about compelling dialogue in anti-violence workshops and survivor support groups at conferences, universities, community centers, churches, and grammar schools.

From audiences of 10 to 10,000+, Angela develops an intimate setting by interweaving open discussion on an often-difficult subject with music, poetry, art and film, fostering deep connections with survivors and their community. This blending of the harsh realities of sexual violence and creative expression motivate individuals to turn tragedy into triumph and mobilize groups to create a world without violence.
